The Athlete of the Year scholarship is the culminating award of the 2015-16 Athlete of the Week program, sponsored by Coordinated Health. One winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship based on a 1/3 split vote between The Morning Call sports department, the Coordinated Health leadership team, and the results of the online voting tool below.
The Morning Call and Coordinated Health will use the following criteria in their consideration for the Athlete of the Year recipient:

Amanda Beard is an icon in and out of the pool, growing into much more than the adorable little Gold Medalist clutching her teddy bear at the 1996 Olympic Games! At 14, Amanda made her first Olympic swimming debut and won 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals, setting the tone for the rest of her career. She went on to win another Gold medal, 2 Silvers and a Bronze at the next 2 Olympic Games. Beard also holds an impressive eight national titles and is a former world record holder.
